Long Time, No See

Wow, it's been a really long time since I've blogged anything.  I guess I should give an update of my life.  I am no longer in school, due to financial issues, but hopefully that will change when January comes around.  In August, I moved from my home in Texas to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, the reason being that my landlady sold her house.  So, I now live with my aunt and cousin.  I took a two week long CNA class (certified nurse aide for those of you who don't know), and got a job at an assisted living place that takes only people with dementia and Alzheimer's.  It is NOT pronounced All-timers or Old-timers disease.  I hate it when people can't read.  Anyways, I've been working for about two months and life is good.  My family is coming to see me for Thanksgiving, so I can't wait!!  Also, I know it's only November 2, but I busted out the Christmas music early!  What can I say, haters gonna hate.  I'm really getting into the Spirit of Christmas early this year.  The way I see it, giving out of the goodness of our hearts should be an all year thing, not just for one month.  That's my idealistic self talking again.
I've also been getting creative.  I'm writing a book that I hope will one day become a bestseller.  More importantly, I've decided to take my photography to a new level.  I set up a DeviantArt account with the name InstancePhotography.  I wanted something creative and meaningful, and since a photograph captures only a single instance, viola!! Instance Photography is born.  I hope I get a lot of supporters and even a mentor would be nice.
As far as my love life, I am still very single.  That's ok, I'm not worried.  I know God has a plan for me, and my husband is out there looking for me as hard as I am looking for him.  I hope it doesn't take too long though. :)
So yeah, that's pretty much it for the last couple of months.  I'm really going to try to make blogging a regular thing and let my creative juices flow.  Wish me luck!!

What Has This World Come To?

So, I saw on the internet that Mattel, the makers of Barbie, has decided to go ahead and make a "Beautiful and Bald Barbie" to give to children with cancer.  I saw this a couple weeks ago, but didn't think the company would actually do anything with it.  There are also a couple others, including Bratz and Moxie.  Now, I'm all for making toys for kids, but a bald toy?  There are so many more kids with heart problems who actually die from their disease, but they get almost no recognition simply because they don't look sick.  Can somebody please explain to me how that works?  What are you supposed to say to a kid with heart problems when he asks why his toy doesn't have a scar on his chest like he does?  You really can't.  I may start a petition to the major toy companies, asking them to consider widening their narrow views into other issues.  Just because a child may look perfectly normal on the outside does not mean that they really are.  Don't be so shallow and only look at a person's outside appearance.  I actually have a little brother who has a serious heart defect.  He's had it since he was born.  It is called Shone's Complex and the doctors said that if he had been born a few years earlier, he would have died.  He is only nine, but has had four surgeries, all before the age of six.  He was recently an ambassador for his elementary school.  The school ended up raising thousands of dollars for research, but it's just not enough.  Only about 1% of every penny goes toward research on childhood heart defects.  I would like to start a campaign or some sort of awareness, but I just don't have the time.  I need all of you to help me with this.  If you have any ideas, let me know. I'd love to hear them.

Grow Up!!

Today at church, God showed how much He wants us to stop eating baby food and move on to steaks! In other words, stop cowering on the back row, afraid of what other people might think if you start to worship Him too loudly or you don't stand to pray when you really need to fall on your face to praise Him!! Worship is how you praise God and the leaders in the church need to prove that God knew what He was doing when He created them!!

We Are Not Worthy

This video is so moving and so powerful. It brought tears to my eyes and I hope it does the same for you. We are so unworthy of what He did for us.
Please tell me what you think!

What an amazing God!!

Today I learned that hydrogen bonds are what holds our DNA together. They are easily broken and very delicate. Isn't it amazing that God thinks about little stuff like hydrogen, while thinking about the big stuff like you and me!?
